CHIMAIRA's 'The Infection' On Track To Sell 15-20K First Week
April 22, 2009According to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS, CHIMAIRA's new album, "The Infection", is on track to move between 15,000 and 20,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
CHIMAIRA's previous album, "Resurrection", opened with 16,000 copies back in March 2007 to land at No. 42 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"The Infection" was released in North America on April 21 via Ferret Music and will be issued in Europe on April 24 through Nuclear Blast. The CD was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City with Ted Jensen and Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, AGNOSTIC FRONT, TERROR, THE ACACIA STRAIN).
CHIMAIRA filmed a video for the track "Destroy And Dominate" in February in the band's hometown of Cleveland. The group's longtime videographer Todd Bell directed the clip, which is expected to debut online later this month.
Commented guitarist Rob Arnold: "Todd is responsible for both of our documentaries, 'The Dehumanizing Process' and 'The Resurrection', as well as our brand new, in-the-works DVD, due out early next year. He's also shot a handful of our music videos, photos, and more. So expect nothing less than superior quality and creativity on 'Destroy And Dominate'! I wish I could tell you all more about what to expect content wise, but I myself am still waiting to see the first rough cut! But I certainly have no doubts that it will crush! Keep your eyes peeled!"
